Nicolaj Møller Nielsen

nicolaj2011-1 smallNicolaj Møller Nielsen is a Danish violist, violinist, string arranger, producer and composer. Originally from Denmark, he now lives in Hanoi, Vietnam. He has since graduating from the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music in 2004 had a diverse career, including solo recitals, chamber music, orchestral work and studio sessions. After 10 years as an orchestral player (the last two years in Copenhagen Phil), he is now also exploring other genres, working as an arranger, composer, recording engineer and producer in a variety of styles. Working out of his studio in Hanoi, Vietnam, he delivers high quality string recordings to producers and musicians around the world. He recently wrote original music for a short documentary about inequality in Vietnam for Oxfam,  and has completed two artist residencies at the Banff Centre in Canada. He was the only Scandinavian selected to be a member of the  Youtube Symphony Orchestra 2011 (read more here - in Danish). 

Having recovered from a near career ending shoulder injury, Nicolaj is an active proponent for the prevention of performance related injurys, both as a writer and lecturer and in working with the medical community to promote more research on the subject. As a speaker on the subject he has appeared in Canada, Australia, Sweden and Denmark.
